Design Concepts Garden Club February 17, 2011 Minutes
Design Concepts Garden Club met at Grace Presbyterian Church at 11:30 am. Members in attendance were Elaine Fix, Jeanne Davis, Patrice Korte, Wanda Dudley, Kathy Gross and Mary Niemann. Welcome to our Accredited Master Flower Show judge, Ruth Lacy. Welcome our guests Louise Chambers, Janet Rosner and Charlene Barton were guests of Elaine Fix from Fleur de Lis Garden Society. Welcome Linda Boelhauf, President of Sprig & Twig Garden Club in ECD. She was a guest of Jeanne Davis.
Secretary’s Report: Elaine Fix read the minutes of the November meeting. The minutes were approved as read.
New Business:
We reviewed the new 2011 yearbook. I’d like to thank Jeanne Davis, Pat Schnarr and Pat Wooden for their help with its content as a flower show schedule.
The May 19 meeting is during the Blooming Bus Tour to Niagara Falls. We discussed the possible changing of our meeting date. We will wait till Pat Schnarr returns.
Our December meeting was canceled because of weather and weather also was why we couldn’t make it up in January.
A card for Pat Wooden was passed around for everyone to sign.

The next meeting will be Thursday, March 17, 2011 and our design will be a monochromatic creative design using all fresh material, staged on a table 35” x 28” x 30” tall on a table 29” from the floor. Theme “When Irish Eyes are Smiling”. See page 166 in the NGC Handbook for Flower Shows.
Ruth Lacy did a great job instructing us on miniature designs. 6 members and one guest displayed their designs.
Elaine Fix was hostess and brought fruit salad, French bread, goat cheese and dill Harvarti cheeses, baby greens, Lime/cilantro shrimp and cookies/candy. Thank you Jeanne Davis for the lemonade and tea.

Design Concepts Garden Club met at Mary Niemann’s home because we could not access Grace Presbyterian Church at 11:30 am. Members in attendance were Elaine Fix, Jeanne Davis, Patrice Korte, Wanda Dudley, Kathy Gross, Vicki Callahan and Mary Niemann. Welcome to our Accredited Flower Show judge, Jeanette Helland, from East Central District.

The next meeting will be Thursday, April 21, 2011 and our design will be a Pot-e-Fleur design staged on a table 35” x 28” x 30” tall on a table 29” from the floor. Theme is Singing in the Rain”. See page 207 in the NGC Handbook for Flower Shows.
Wanda Dudley was hostess and brought chicken salad along with watermelon slices, orange slices with strawberries and green punch. Thank you Wanda, it was a hit.
